TAYA is a video streaming platform with films that represent filmmakers of several Caribbean Islands, particularly from Dutch Caribbean. Most of the time films of the Caribbean region are being made and after their release there is no place for the final product on the regular market because of various reasons. This platform gives the film a longer life.

During the quarantine of March-May 2020 it became clearer that Caribbean people do like local films and would like to have a place where they can see it all. According to a survey held just after the quarantine period, 93.9% percent of the audience between the ages of 25 and 65 would like to have access to more local content. The result of this survey was a push to start the development of this platform.

TAYA is a product of Pantalla Chica Productions, a production company based in Curacao, Dutch Caribbean with several productions under its belt. Sulin Passial the owner of PAC, believes in the power of telling local stories, the power of representation and the power of collaboration. This platform could not have been possible without the collaboration and the trust of all the filmmakers and production companies involved. TAYA is a collaborative effort more than anything else.
